Basic Function:
To properly and safely prepare molds and assist in pouring of quality magnesium and aluminum alloys to meet customer specifications.
This position is responsible to ensure all molds are ready to pour and pouring lines are moving and organized.
The position will ensure that all procedures are being followed, appropriate data is recorded and signed, and also ensures area is clean and free of obstructions.
Physical Requirements:
Maximum Lift Weight 50lbs Maximum Push/Pull Weight 100 lbs % Of Time Sitting 0 % Of Time Standing 100 Exposed to Severe Weather Conditions:
Yes Very Hot conditions during summer; near melting furnace
Responsibilities:
1 Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities 2 Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times 3 Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
4 Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process 5 Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information & records associated with job responsibilities 6 Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards 7 Prepare molds prior to pouring; inspecting for closure, venting, covering, mold damage; M5-WI Prep Procedure, M5-CL (Checklist) 8 Ensure everything is done and ready to comply with daily pour schedule; GP45 Pour Schedule 9 Assist in the pouring of molds; may operate crane, tenor hose, etc 10 Understand and ensure all M5 procedures are followed 11 Remove molds to shakeout staging (must color code the metal), maintain flow of product on rollers 12 May perform pot cleaning/maintenance; maintain safety awareness & needed corrections 13 Perform daily 6S tasks to keep department organized, efficient, & safe 143 Report any problems or concerns to the melting supervisor right away Requirements:
Skills:
Be able to read and understand all procedures required to perform assigned tasks Become forklift & bobcat certified Good communication skills Education/Training:
On the job training.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
